We live in a fast changing world. Whether you see and feel it in the economy, the environment, or in politics, we have no doubt that you, too, are struck by how much is happening in the world every day. With such change, and such uncertainty, there also comes great opportunity.
At Wild Kenai Red Salmon, we see every challenge as an opportunity to learn, act and grow. That’s why we dedicate our business to making a positive impact in the world, whether it be in sourcing the best fish from small producers, using organic ingredients, or supporting the ecological health of the bays and seas that make our craft possible.
There are major issues at stake surrounding Alaskan fisheries. If you would like to get involved to help ensure the long-term survival of these fisheries, we gratefully offer you a chance. Here are several ways to make a difference:
Pebble Mine
Pebble Mine is a proposed open-pit gold mine to be dug at the headwaters of Bristol Bay, where we source our fish. The mine presents history’s single greatest threat to Bristol Bay and Alaska Salmon Fisheries. Read up on the fight and get involved:

Acid Oceans
Ocean acidification is a big problem still off the radar of most people and politicians. Acid oceans threaten all marine wildlife, including salmon. Recently, activists in Homer, Alaska staged a protest and areal art show to bring awareness to the issue. We used their image for the header of this page.
